Metalforming West Facilities



The laboratory provides insight into metalforming processes. experimental data to check the validity of analyses, and the capability to explore new technologies on the laboratory level. The equipment is sufficiently small to conserve space, permit easy maintenance, and operate on a small budget. Because the data, rather than the material component, is the important product of our effort, each piece of equipment is highly instrumented to record the information desired. Information from laboratory scaled down workpiece, or from modeling material such as plasticine or lead, may be applied to a manufacturing scale or real material.
