Mainly through the services of Prof. Betz Avitzur and a team of co-workers,
Metalforming Inc. has been providing consulting services to the Metalforming
Industry since before its incorporation in 1972. It furnishes a wide range
of services in providing solutions to problems in metalforming processes
such as wire drawing, conventional and hydrostatic extrusion, deep drawing,
ironing, rolling, forging, spinning, tube making, and many more. It also
provides consulting and solutions-handling phenomena such as friction,
Hydro-Dynamic lubrication, Pressure Induced Ductility (PID) and Metalworking
Under Pressure (MUP), failure modes in fabrication of bi-metals and composites,
high energy rate forming, the use of soft tooling, and replacing brute
force. Most recent examples are:
- Lube Evaluation
-- The development of a highly sophisticated, instrumented computer controlled
draw bench for the evaluation of lubricants for fine wet wire drawing.
- A survey of the metalforming operations of a precious metal manufacturing
facility and recommendations on upgrading in the long and short run .
- Hydraw -- Development of "Hydraw"
equipment for the fabrication of ultra fine wire down to the size of 0.0005".
